Her national costume had to look really exotic. Since Indian dresses look best with long hair, her short hair
came as a challenge. We offered her a wig but she refused because she is quite comfortable with her short hair. So I styled her traditional look with short hair. The outcome was pretty impressive.
She is going to ooze out a lot of Indianess at the pageant. Besides her National Dress competition, she has taken many more outfits from Ritu Kumar lines. Lots of tops, t-shirts, skirts, long dresses, short dresses. They all have an Indian touch to them. Some have mirror work, others have embroidery. The other day I saw a picture of her in a salwar kameez with other girls who were wearing sun dresses. She looked uber cool in salwar kameez. It made her stand out.
Her height, I think, is her strongest point and then comes her classic face. I see amazing confidence in her and hope that helps her bring the crown home!
